C|BP is the first of its kind certification that recognizes an individual’s accumulated skills in developing or implementing Blockchain technology in alignment with the organizational goals.


Until May 31st 2018, highly experienced professionals who have had a significant role in implementing and developing Blockchain technology can apply for certification as a C|BP under the grandfathering clause.


In order to qualify for the C|BP certification under the grandfathering provision, an applicant must provide evidence of experience associated with the development or implementation of Blockchain technology.

 

C|BPs are certified in the knowledge and experience in the following Domains

Code of Ethics



This code of ethics expresses the consensus of the profession on ethical issues and is a means to educate both the public and those who are entering the field about the ethical obligations. By joining IIB Grandfathering program each member agrees to:

Privacy:
 Keep private any confidential information gained in her/his professional work, (in particular as it pertains to client lists and client personal information). Not collect, give, sell, or transfer any personal information (such as name, e-mail address, Social Security number, or another unique identifier) to a third party without prior client consent.

Intellectual Property:
 Protect the intellectual property of others by relying on her/his own innovation and efforts, thus ensuring that all benefits vest with its originator.

Disclosure:
 Disclose to appropriate persons or authorities potential dangers to any e-commerce clients, the Internet community, or the public, that she/he reasonably believes to be associated with a particular set or type of electronic transactions or related software or hardware.

Areas of Expertise:
 Provide service in their areas of competence, being honest and forthright about any limitations of her/his experience and education. Ensure that she/he is qualified for any project on which he/she works or proposes to work by an appropriate combination of education, training, and experience.

Unauthorized Usage: Never knowingly use software or process that is obtained or retained either illegally or unethically.

Illegal Activities:
 Not engage in deceptive financial practices such as bribery, double billing, or other improper financial practices.

Authorization: Use the property of a client or employer only in ways properly authorized, and with the owner’s knowledge and consent.

Disclosure: Disclose to all concerned parties those conflicts of interest that cannot reasonably be avoided or escaped.

Management: Ensure good management for any project he/she leads, including effective procedures for promotion of quality and full disclosure of risk.

Knowledge Sharing: Add to the knowledge of the e-commerce profession by constant study, share the lessons of her/his experience with fellow IIB Council members, and promote public awareness of benefits of electronic commerce.

Confidence: Conduct herself/himself in the most ethical and competent manner when soliciting professional service or seeking employment, thus meriting confidence in her/his knowledge and integrity.

Extreme Care: Ensure ethical conduct and professional care at all times on all professional assignments without prejudice.

Malicious Activities: Not associate with malicious hackers nor engage in any malicious activities.

No Compromise: Not purposefully compromise or cause to be compromised the client organization’s systems in the course of your professional dealings.

Legal Limits: Ensure all penetration testing activities are authorized and within legal limits.

Involvement: Not partake in any black hat activity or be associated with any black hat community that serves to endanger networks.

Underground Communities: Not be part of any underground hacking community for purposes of preaching and expanding black hat activities.

Section 2: Experience Information

For each employer, enter information that pertains to the Information Security and Management experience that you have gained during this employment period. Beginning with the most current position, enter each job title(s) held and the time duration (from month/year to month/year). For each position in which you gained experience in C|BP domains, please select the appropriate domain and the duration of your work experience in that domain (from month/year to month/year).
To qualify for the Grandfathering certification the applicant needs to demonstrate professional experience equivalent to a minimum of 24 accumulative points from the total of 9 domains mentioned in the table below (1 point equals to 1 month of professional experience): To qualify you need a minimum of:
A. 1 year experience in Blockchain Development (24 points).

OR

B. 1 year experience in Blockchain Implementation (12 points)

AND

another 12 points from the remain 7 domains (Cryptocurrency investment strategy, Full Stack development, Management consulting, Project management, Operational management, Information security management, Finance and strategic planning.



The 9 C|BP Domains are (Blockchain Related):
1. Blockchain development (1 month = 2 point)
  • Understand one or more of the following Blockchain/Distributed Ledger Technologies: Ethereum, Multichain, Openchain, Exonum, Ripple, Chain, BlockApps, Corda, and/or Monax/Eris
  • Understand Agile development using continuous integration and/or other DevOps tooling
  • Understand various distributed consensus methodologies (Mining, PoS, Paxos, etc.)
  • Understand at least 2 programming languages: Nodejs frameworks, Java, Go, C, C++, JavaScript, Scala, Python, Kotlin and relevant/appropriate unit testing frameworks
  • Understand advanced/state-of-the-art cryptography, including asymmetric (pub/priv key), symmetric, hash functions, encryption/signatures


2. Blockchain implementation (1 month = 1 point)
  • Has documented evidence of being part of a blockchain technology implementation project
  • Solid understanding of peer-to-peer networks and consensus mechanisms
  • Proven analytical abilities including identification of unconventional trends and emerging technologies
  • Understand the future of blockchain technology, web3, and low-level protocol development


3. Cryptocurrency mining (1 month = 1 point)
  • Understand Crypto algorithms
  • Understand tokenization, ICOs and IPOs, wallets and exchanges.
  • Knowledge of Mining, Hashing, Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), P2P Networking and Merkle trees.
  • Experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment
  • Experience in PHP/Python/Go/Scala development


4. Full Stack development (1 month = 0.5 points)
  • Documented experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Python, SQL, PHP, .NET, MVC etc
  • Familiarity with structured data, APIs and protocol stacks
  • Experience with Unix / Linux, scripting technologies, and analytics domain
  • Design Patterns, N Tier Architecture, Testing, Agile principles


5. Management consulting (1 month = 0.5 points)
  • Define activities needed to successfully execute the project, estimate activity duration and develop a schedule and staffing plan
  • Develop, manage and monitor the program budget, estimate and control the costs of the individual projects
  • Identify, negotiate, acquire, and manage the resources needed for a successful design and implementation
  • Assign clear information security personnel job functions, and provide continuous training to ensure effective performance and accountability


6. Project management (1 month = 0.5 points)
  • Project management qualification evidenced by relevant certification
  • Experienced in Agile, Lean, SCRUM or Waterfall
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
  • Experience of leading Business Strategies, Business Plans/Cases, Vendor Selection/Assessments, Resource Development Plans, Team Building, RFPs, etc.


7. Operational management (1 month = 0.5 points)
  • Ensure that communication between departments is ongoing and utilized to maintain an environment of continuous improvement and growth
  • Coordinates activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements
  • Responsible for the production, procurement, and planning of daily operations
  • Managing budgets and costs effectively in respect of the planning process
  • Ensure key performance indicators are in place and production targets are met
  • Implementation of any new policies and procedures relating to the production process


8. Information security management (1 month = 0.5 points)
  • CEH, CHFI or CISO certified
  • Design a systematic and structured risk assessment process and establish, in coordination with stakeholders, an information security risk management program based on standards and procedures and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify changes to risk management policies and processes and ensure the risk management program remains current with the emerging risk and threat environment and in alignment with the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Define the scope of the enterprise continuity of operations program to address business continuity, business recovery, contingency planning, and disaster recovery/related activities.
  • Develop a plan to identify a potential security violation and take appropriate action to report the incident.


9. Finance and strategic planning (1 month = 0.5 points)
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing information
  • Analyze, forecast and develop the operational budget
  • Monitor and oversee cost management of projects, return on investment (ROI) of key purchases and ensure alignment with the strategic plan
  • Identify and report financial metrics to stakeholders
  • Define a forward-looking, visionary and innovative strategic plan with clear goals, objectives, and targets that support the operational needs of the organization

IN CONSIDERATION of being granted the Certified Blockchain Professional (C|BP) credential, I HEREBY DECLARE that:

1. I have not been convicted of any felony, I do not have a criminal background whatsoever and do not intend to use the certification for any purpose other than what it is intended.

2. International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (IIB Council) has the right to revoke or reject my certification status or application package if I am found to have been involved in criminal activity pre or post certification.

3. IIB Council has the right to revoke the C|BP credential if I fail to pay fees due and/or fail to maintain the required points under IIB Council's Continuing Education system. IIB Council has the right to request for a criminal background/police verification report to prove that I have not committed any crimes as a basis for licensure renewal.

4. All information contained in my C|BP Application package are true and correct.

5. I will not make any derogatory remarks against IIB Council or its certifications.

6. I will not use the C|BP credential for fraud, deception, theft, sabotage or other malicious or unethical activities.

7. IIB Council shall not be held liable or responsible for the lack of knowledge, experience or quality of work as a Certified Blockchain Professional.

Preamble

The C|BP Professional Code of Conduct (“Code”) has been established to act as a guide for C|BP Professionals. C|BP Professionals are advised to refer to the Code when faced with ethical or moral dilemmas. All C|BP Professionals must abide by and enforce the Code. Any violation of the Code will be subject to review by IIB Council and may lead to suspension or revocation of the C|BP Professional certification.

By adhering to this Code, C|BP Professionals agree to uphold their responsibilities to society, the profession, their employers, and their clients at all times.

Code of Conduct

The Code is divided into four main principles:


                1. To act within legal limits

                2. To act with honesty and integrity

                3. To uphold professionalism

                4. To maintain privacy and confidentiality

1.  To act within legal limits


               - C|BP Professionals shall respect and abide by all local, state, federal and international laws pertaining to their course of work.

               - C|BP Professionals shall ensure that they do not engage in any unlawful activities.

               - C|BP Professionals shall report to the proper authorities all and any unlawful acts known to them.

               - C|BP Professionals shall honor the work agreement signed between himself and the client organization and stay within the limits of the agreement.

2.  To act with honesty and integrity


               - C|BP Professionals shall act with full honesty, integrity and responsibility at all times.

               - C|BP Professionals shall not partake in any deceptive or manipulative activities.

               - C|BP Professionals shall not partake in activities which have a negative outcome on society.

               - C|BP Professionals shall avoid real or perceived conflicts of interest whenever possible and disclose them to affected parties when they do exist.

               - C|BP Professionals shall carry out their duties in an ethical manner without harm to the client organization.

               - C|BP Professionals shall not partake in any malicious activity towards the client organization and protect the systems of the client organization to                                 the best of his ability in the course of his duties.

3.  To uphold professionalism


               - C|BP Professionals shall demonstrate high standards and professional care in their course of work.

               - C|BP Professionals shall promote an objective and fair work environment.

               - C|BP Professionals shall render service for which they are competent and not claim knowledge on areas for which they are incompetent.

               - C|BP Professionals shall respect and not tarnish the reputation of certifications by other organizations or establishments.

4.  To maintain privacy and confidentiality


               - C|BP Professionals shall maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all information encountered in their course of work unless required by a legal                               authority.

               - C|BP Professionals shall not disclose or misuse any information encountered for personal benefit.
